Flat Fee – BAR License Defense

Michael Benavides
BAR License Defense
(916) 596-1018
Michael Benavides is one of the few BAR license defense attorneys to charge a flat fee payable by credit card. Flat fees allow clients to enter into an attorney-client relationship knowing exactly what legal representation will cost from start to finish. In contrast, hourly billing (favored by many attorneys) result in the client being surprised by the amount of every bill and leaves the attorney with an incentive to work more hours on a case than is actually required, especially if the client is wealthy or the case is going poorly and the attorney is seeking a reason to withdraw. Accordingly, flat fee billing often benefits clients and in many cases results in lower attorney fees compared to hourly billing.
Credit Cards
Automotive Repair Dealers, Smog stations, and other facilities licensed by the Bureau of Automotive repair all accept credit cards; so should your attorney. Michael Benavides accepts credit cards to extend representation to clients who need financing to protect their license.
Pay Less If Your Case Settles
Not every case results in an administrative hearing. Sometimes a settlement agreement can be reached with the BAR which addresses their concerns while allowing clients to continue operation. In many cases Michael Benavides divides his flat fee into two payments: one payment due upon hiring and the second payment due shortly before the hearing. Clients who want to accept a BAR settlement may avoid the second payment and thereby pay less than if their case proceeded to hearing or hired an attorney who charged 1 lump sum flat fee.
